CANTON, Ill. – One man is charged with first degree murder in connection with the death of a 70-year-old man earlier this week.
Canton police say their investigation led to the arrest of Rocky Garwood, 38, of Canton. Garwood, who is also charged with home invasion, is being held in the Fulton County Jail pending a preliminary hearing.
The body of David Kuntz, 70, of Canton was found just before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in a home on Baxter Court in Canton.
Fulton County Coroner Austin Rhodes said an autopsy was performed Friday and it was determined Kuntz’ death was a homicide. However, the manner of death is being withheld while the investigation continues.
Canton police, in a news release, is also asking the public’s help in reviewing any possible video surveillance from the night of September 2 to the early morning hours of September 3, specifically related to a man riding a bicycle during those hours.
