BARTONVILLE, Ill. — An increased police presence is expected at Limestone Community High School on Wednesday after police and school administrators investigated an “extremely vague” online report.
Limestone School Superintendent Keith Brown said late Tuesday night that rumors spread after a student made an anonymous report on the Safe2HelpIL platform that included no names or any direct threat to the school.
As rumors spread through the community, officials determined there was no credible threat to school safety.
Police are planning to provide extra protection at the high school, according to a statement on the Bartonville Police Department’s Facebook page.
“Out of an abundance of caution, and to ease the minds of students and parents, you will see an increased presence of officers at the school,” police said.
