PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria’s Irish Festival is one of the city’s biggest events of the year…and it’s back this weekend.
Organizer Daniel Haney’s been part of the festival for 28 years running, and says there’s always plenty to see and do.
“We have four stages of entertainment, five pubs with different types of beverages. We have Kelleher’s and Sullivan’s together this year doing our Irish food,” Haney says.
Haney tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan” besides the Irish food and drink, there’s a lot of Irish music to enjoy.
“It’s pretty much all day, every day. We’ve got tons of headliners again…more than 20 bands,” Haney says.
The Irish Fest is billed as the Midwest’s biggest celebration of Irish music, dance, food, and culture.
The gates open on the Peoria Riverfront Friday at 4 p.m.
Irish Fest runs through 10:30 Friday night, Saturday from noon-10:30, and Sunday from 9-5.
