PEORIA, Ill. – A judge has granted a petition to detain a man in prison after allegedly shooting his brother inside a home in Peoria on Thursday afternoon.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says a detention hearing was held Friday for 23-year-old Ashwin Greenleaf, who is charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.
Peoria Police responded to a home in the area of Moss and Union in the West Bluff, finding an adult male with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The man told police that Greenleaf, his brother, allegedly fired twice at him inside the residents and recorded the incident on his phone before leaving.
The victim suffered serious injuries.
Greenleaf was found a few hours later in Princeton and arrested, with a firearm reportedly recovered from the vehicle.
