PEORIA, Ill. – A teenager was arrested after allegedly being in possession of a stolen vehicle early Sunday morning in Peoria.
Peoria Police says a traffic stop was conducted on a previously reported stolen vehicle near Martin Luther King and Richard Allen, just after 4:30 A.M.
Three juveniles fled the vehicle as officers approached it. A 17-year-old male was apprehended on John Gwynn Avenue, and a 15-year-old was apprehended on Fourth Street. The third suspect was not found.
The 17-year-old was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Motor Vehicle Theft, Fleeing/Resisting Police, and multiple traffic violations, then taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
The 15-year-old was released to the custody of a guardian.
