PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police arrested a man on Thursday who they said was responsible for an armed robbery on N. Knoxville Avenue while wanted on an active warrant.
PPD says officers were called to the Knoxville Food Mart just after 9 p.m. Wednesday for an armed robbery. When they arrived, officers spoke with the victim, who told them an unknown man walked into the store with a long rifle.
The victim told police that the suspect took several items from the store before leaving. They also said the suspect got into the passenger side of a vehicle before heading east on Arcadia.
The next day, just after 4:30 p.m., detectives found the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Ashten Bean, at a home on N. Linn Street.
Bean was taken into custody and arrested on charges of armed robbery. He was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
