PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria CIty Council has given approval for a developer to convert empty downtown store fronts into housing.
The council approved in consent agenda a proposal to turn the first floor of 315 Main Street into three residential units, a one-bedroom loft and two studio lofts.
The plan also calls for exposing the original brick walls and ceiling beams.
The developer is CuriousNomad LLC.
The project is expected to cost around $2.2 million.
Work is expected to begin in the fall, with preleasing by late-spring next year.
