PEORIA, Ill. – Choose Greater Peoria wants you to come “hang out” downtown this summer…and be entertained.
Abby Kaufman says every Wednesday from 11-1, there will be lunchtime concerts and food trucks at the CAT Visitors Center and Peoria Riverfront Museum.
“We’re working with Dave Poehls from the Regional Office of Education, and he’s lined up a variety of performers. We have the ICC Music Academy today (Wednesday, July 9), we have Peoria Players coming in, Cornstock, show choirs,” Kaufman says.
Whether you work in downtown Peoria or want something fun to do with the kids, all of the concerts are free.
Choose Greater Peoria’s Laura Cullinan says they’re partnering with other groups on the series to enhance the vibrancy of Peoria’s downtown area.
“We are grateful and are in appreciation of the return-to-work employees and Caterpillar and OSF, and we’re offering this up as just one more thing that’s happening in our vibrant regional core over lunch,” Cullinan says.
The Summer Series: Let’s Hang! Concerts will be at the Caterpillar Visitors Center and the food trucks will be set up at the Peoria Riverfront Museum’s Sun Plaza each Wednesday.
