PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley University President James Shadid has been on the job for 100 days.
He says his vision for the university is really simple, with a focus on students.
“I want to create a premier student experience for every student that we serve. And, to me that means top to bottom…an attractive campus, a campus where parents want to send their young people, where young people want to attend,” Shadid says.
Bradley’s president tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan Show”, that premiere experience at Bradley includes residential and dining options, a more attractive perimeter around the campus, and of course academics.
Shadid says in his first 100 days at Bradley, he’s also been working on rebuilding relationships on and off campus.
“I’ve been visible, I think I’ve been pretty engaged. And, I have a lot of people reaching out…offering their thoughts on solving problems,” Shadid says.
Shadid says relationships with the community have suffered over the years. He’s determined to make things better.
He’s met with Peoria City Manager Patrick Urick to discuss ways to make the area of Main and University Streets near the campus more attractive…not only for potential Bradley University students, but also for residents living near the campus.
