UPDATE – PEORIA, Ill. – Two people were taken to a hospital after fireworks related injuries in Peoria.
One man suffered what fire officials described as serious traumatic injuries around 11:30 a.m. Friday in the area of Loucks and Virginia.
Nearly two hours later, fire fighters were called to the area of Eureka Street and NE Madison Avenue.
There they found one man suffering from severe traumatic injuries believed to be caused by fireworks.
Firefighters in each incident initiated advance life support care at the scene. The victims were then transported to a hospital for continued treatment.
The conditions of both men are not known.
The Peoria Fire Department is reminding everyone that using fireworks is prohibited by city ordinance and that fireworks should be left to the professionals.

A male patient in the area had sustained what crews call serious traumatic injuries due to a fireworks-related incident.
Firefighters gave Advanced Life Support care, with AMT transporting the victim to the OSF Emergency Department.
Peoria Fire is reminding everyone that using fireworks is prohibited by city ordinance.
