WASHINGTON, D.C. – Reactions to the passage of President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” are falling along party lines.
16th District Congressman Darin LaHood (R-Dunlap) says the bill is a “generational piece of legislation” that delivers economic relief, bolsters national security, and secures the southern border.
In a statement, LaHood says impacts in his district include a more than 13-thousand dollar increase in yearly take-home pay and preserves ten-thousand manufacturing jobs.
17th District Congressman Eric Sorensen (D-Moline) says the bill is a ”Big Billionaire Bailout.”
He claims the bill would cut health care and food assistance while giving tax breaks to the rich, and adds that ”only heartless people could celebrate.”
