PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria’s own Victor Solomon will sing the National Anthem ahead of Choose Greater Peoria RED WHITE AND BOOM! presented by i3 Broadband on the 4th of July over the Peoria and East Peoria riverfronts.
Solomon was born in Chicago but raised in Peoria. He attended Peoria Public Schools and is a Peoria Central alum. He gained fame locally and nationally as a contestant on both “The Voice” and “American Idol.”
“I am so excited to come home for the Red, White, and BOOM show for the Fourth of July this Friday,” said Solomon. “I cannot wait to see you all!! Thank you all so much for your love and support! It has not gone unnoticed! Love y’all! See you soon!”
Victor placed in the top 20 in season 23 of American Idol earlier this year. He also competed on Season 20 of NBC’s The Voice where he was a finalist on Team Legend. Victor has now relocated to Los Angeles.
The National Anthem will be heard live on speakers lining the Peoria and East Peoria riverfronts as well as on seven Midwest Communications radio stations, five of which will also simulcast the choreographed Red White and Boom fireworks soundtrack. The Anthem is scheduled for 9:20pm on the 4th of July, just ahead of the 9:30pm fireworks which will launch from barges in the middle of the Illinois River provided by ADM/ARTCO.
Choose Greater Peoria RED WHITE AND BOOM! presented by i3 Broadband will also feature a C-130 flyover from the 182nd airlift wing of the Illinois Air National Guard based in Peoria and the Pledge of Allegiance by Annabel Pulling, The East Peoria Festival of Lights Queen.
The annual pyrotechnics extravaganza is the largest fireworks display in Illinois and among the top 1% in America. This year is the 39th anniversary of the event, with the 40th anniversary coming next year for the Semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence.
