PEORIA, Ill. – No demolition blast is scheduled this week at the McClugage Bridge but that does not mean traffic will not be affected by the continuing work.
The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced overnight lane closures will be necessary on Adams Street in Peoria at the McClugage Bridge.
The closures to remove steel beams from the old eastbound span will begin at 8:30 p.m. and end at 6 a.m., beginning Monday evening. The work will continue each night until Saturday morning.
There are other road construction projects beginning this week.
Cedar Hills Drive in Dunlap, west of Route 40, will be closed beginning Monday at 8 a.m. Traffic will be detoured at the railroad tracks between Carter Lane and Bland Road. The full closure for crossing improvement and maintenance work will continue until 10 a.m. Friday, weather permitting.
