PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say two people were arrested on weapons charges over the weekend in two separate cases.
Police say the first happened around 12:45 Friday afternoon near Lincoln and Western.
They say officers in the area noticed an otherwise unidentified male juvenile had a stolen handgun on him, so he was arrested and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
The second happened before 4:00 a.m. Sunday when, police say, Javion Younger, 25, was observed going from one business to another, and when he was stopped on West Main, a stolen semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine was found.
Younger remains in jail, as he was also found to be wanted on two warrants and also faces a battery charge from a different incident.
