PEORIA, Ill. – A fan hit by a foul ball is suing the Peoria Chiefs to try and get more netting at Dozer Park.
25 News reports Sandra Klatt filed the suit last month in Peoria’s 10th Circuit Court. She is claiming fraud and deceptive practices.
The suit claims that the Chiefs are part of 1% of minor league stadiums in the country that don’t have safety netting beyond the home plate area. It also claims the Chiefs are breaching the Dozer Park Redevelopment Agreement made with the city in 2000.
Klatt was hit in the eye by a foul ball in July 2011 at Dozer Park.
She is seeking additional netting at the park, along with monetary damages and attorneys fees.
General Manager Jason Mott says the team is aware of the lawsuit but did not comment on it. He says the team is planning additional netting for next season.
