EAST PEORIA, Ill. – Mother Nature hasn’t been very friendly this weekend, and that might continue later today, with the possibility of severe weather existing.
That’s according to 25 News First Alert Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins.
“Thunderstorms will develop after 4:00 Sunday afternoon, with all hazards in play – including an isolated tornado, large hail , damaging winds and heavy rain which could cause localized flooding due to saturated soil from Saturday’s heavy rain,” said Collins.
A Flood Watch is also in effect from Sunday afternoon until Monday morning. The National Weather Service says Peoria received more than 3.25 inches of rain Saturday, cutting down the drought-caused deficit somewhat, but saturated ground could make flooding possible Sunday.
