PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say a total of five juveniles were arrested in two separate incidents related to the discovery of guns in the last day or so.
Officers say in one case, a stolen vehicle was recovered early Thursday morning on Hillcrest, and a so-called “ghost gun” with an automatic switch was discovered inside.
The 14, 15, and 17-year-olds were arrested on multiple charges each – two are in juvenile custody, while one was released to his mother.
The other incident Wednesday started as teens sitting on vehicles and toting guns, and ended after the otherwise unidentified juveniles tried to flee a scene on Southwest Phoenix but were caught.
Three guns were found.
Those juveniles face weapons charges and remain in custody.
