PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria firefighters were called to a duplex on W. Third, between N. Kane and N. MacArthur Highway, early Thursday morning.
Fire Battalion Chief Tom Sander said flames were showing from both floors and the attic of the two and a half story home when crews arrived around 12:45 a.m.
The duplex was partially boarded up and was vacant.
A partial collapse on the second floor prompted an emergency demolition. A firefighter suffered minor injuries when he fell through the floor below.
A Peoria Fire Investigator said arson was the cause of the fire.
