PEORIA, Ill. – An agreement has reportedly been reached between Peoria Public Library workers and the Board of Trustees.
AFSCME Local 3464, which represents the library workers, has reportedly ratified the deal.
But details of the agreement will not be released until final approval from the Board.
Library steward Karla Wilkinson tells 25 News that the deal is not quite where they wanted it to be, but it’s a first step in the process.
Wages were a big part of negotiations from the union…arguing they needed significant raises to reach a liveable wage.
The new contract will run until December, 2025.
The library board meets next week, but no agenda has been posted yet.
