LINCOLN, Ill. – The rains of the last several days likely put a dent in the drought, but it didn’t likely end it.
Rainfall totals over the area varied widely the last several days, according to “CoCoRaHS” – the collaborative storm reporting network used by the National Weather Service and other organizations.
One of the largest rainfall total in the area came from Elmwood – reporting nearly five inches of rain between last Wednesday and Monday.
Dunlap recorded nearly 3.25 inches of rain, while Peoria reported less than 2.25 inches.
The National Weather Service says Peoria was about 2.25 inches below normal for rainfall for the month of June.
