PEORIA, Ill. – An important Peoria organization has some new space it’s using, thanks in part to another important Peoria organization.
The Rotary Club of Peoria gave Neighborhood House a $26,000 grant to create a new green space. On Tuesday, a ribbon-cutting was held to officially open and reveal the space.
“We hear a lot in the news about young people, and some of the crime and different things that are happening,” said Julie Bonar, Neighborhood House CEO. “Neighborhood House as well as many other community organizations around Peoria have these amazing youth programs. This is a place the youth want to come to.”
Bonar said the outdoor green space was created using reclaimed football turf.
