PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Firefighters say around $100,000 in damage was done to a home that caught on fire Monday morning.
Crews were called around 8:55 a.m. to Fairholm Avenue not far from a fire station, and saw a lot of heavy smoke coming from the structure right away.
The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes, but caused enough damage for a Code Enforcement officer to order an emergency demolition.
Investigators are still looking into the cause.
One person was treated for an injury at the scene, but no one otherwise was hurt.
