PEORIA, Ill. — Memorial Day isn’t just about cookouts and pool parties, it’s about remembering those who sacrificed their lives for our country.
Memorial Day events that took place on Monday, May 29th included:
The Memorial Day Salute at Springdale Cemetery, at Glen Oak Park on N. Prospect Road in Peoria.
The City of Peoria’s Memorial Day Program at the Gateway Building on NE Water Street.
Washington’s Memorial Day Parade started at the corner of N. Main and Jefferson Streets, followed by a ceremony at Glendale Cemetery at the Veterans Memorial.
