EAST PEORIA, Ill. — An East Peoria home and garage were damaged by a fire Sunday afternoon on Gem Street, near Jim Court.
Firefighters responded to the home around 4 p.m. A resident was home at the time of the fire.
No injuries reported at the scene.
The East Peoria Fire Department says damage was estimated at $40,000.
The cause of the fire was ruled accidental.
