UPDATED 6:53 P.M.
PEORIA, Ill. – A fire to a home on the back side of Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Peoria has been knocked down.
That’s according to Peoria Fire Chief Shawn Sollberger.
The fire broke out around 3:15 p.m. in what Sollberger says was a vacant home. He says the home may have to be demolished, but damage estimates were around $10,000.
Response to the fire caused a section of War Memorial Drive to be closed until just before 5:00 p.m. Thursday. That’s because fire hoses needed to be taken across the road, due to problems with hydrant access.
An official cause has yet to be determined.
