PEORIA, Ill. – At least one person is hurt following a late-afternoon shooting Wednesday in South Peoria.
Police Chief Eric Echevarria tells 25 News it happened prior to 5:00 p.m. near Starr and Westmoreland, with reports of a ShotSpotter alert in the area.
An 18-year-old was shot at, and the chief says injuries are not life-threatening.
Shell casings could be seen in an area where children were playing close to Logan Recreation Center nearby.
No word on suspects.
