PEORIA, Ill. – A teenage male was arrested after a traffic stop on Peoria’s East Bluff Thursday afternoon.
Peoria Police officers stopped the vehicle at around 4:20 P.M. at Indiana and Nebraska.
The two males in the vehicle were detained, while officers conducted a search of the vehicle.
They found inside the vehicle a handgun that was reported stolen. The 17-year-old driver of the vehicle was taken in for questioning while the passenger was released.
The teenager was then arrested on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Handgun Under 21, Possession of a Stolen Handgun, and no FOID.
He was taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
