EAST PEORIA, Ill. – Last weekend we saw plenty of severe weather in the area. Now that we’re into this weekend, it could be much the same thing.
25 News First Alert Chief Meteorologist thinks things could dicey once again Saturday night.
“Although we’ll see scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, the best chance for severe weather comes after 5:00 Saturday evening,” Collins said. “Primary hazards include large hail and damaging winds, but a couple of tornadoes can’t be ruled out, especially northwest of the Illinois River. Heavy rain may also accompany the storms.”
There’s also rain in the forecast for Sunday, and forecasters say some parts of Illinois could see strong to severe thunderstorms then as well.
