PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police arrested two people Wednesday afternoon in South Peoria at the same time, but for different reasons.
Officers observed a vehicle with a wanted subject at 3:39 P.M., and followed it. The vehicle stopped at a business at SW Jefferson and Leland.
There were two people inside the vehicle, 25-year-old Je Ryan Porter and 32-year-old Randi Wyatt. Both were detained without incident.
Officers found a loaded handgun with an extended magazine and illegal drugs inside the vehicle during a search of it.
Porter and Wyatt were taken to the Peoria Police Department for questioning, then arrested and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
Porter is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Violence, Possession of a Firearm with a Valid FOID Card, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Methamphetamine, and a Warrant on File.
Wyatt was arrested for two Warrants on File.
