PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man’s trial was supposed to continue Tuesday after a shooting last September.
Instead, court records indicate, Jay’vion Lee, 22, pleaded guilty to a charge of Aggravated Battery, and had prosecutors dismiss a felony weapons charge in exchange.
Lee was arrested last September 8 after a shooting near Western and Wiswall.
A ShotSpotter alert indicated 23 rounds were fired, and police said a female was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lee was sentenced to six years in prison, for which he must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence, before he begins three years on parole.
He gets credit for 230 days served in jail.
