PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say a man is arrested after he allegedly hit a pedestrian witha car Friday morning.
Police say the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. around Moss and MacArthur, with the victim sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.
A license plate reader helped identify the car around 8:35 p.m. near Lincoln and Western, with a search of the car turning up a loaded gun and illegal drugs.
Bryson Barnes, 34, faces faces a host of charges, including, according to police: Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Firearm Without a Valid FOID Card, Possession of Methamphetamine, Crash Injury, Failure to Render Aid, and Failure to Reduce Speed.
Barnes, a convicted felon, has a lengthy arrest history in Peoria County dating back to 2006, according to Peoria County Jail records.
