PEORIA, Ill. — Two people were wounded in shootings that happened Tuesday night in North Peoria.
Peoria Police Spokesperson Semone Roth says officers were initially called to N. University and Covington Court around 10:15 p.m. on reports of shots fired. Once there, they were told an argument involving up to 20 people ended with a gun going off.
Moments later, PPD was called to the area of Big Hollow and Creighton Terrace on more shots fired.
Enroute, officers were stopped by someone who told them a passenger in their vehicle had a graze wound.
Officers then located a second victim in a car on War Memorial and Bacon. A woman driving the car flagged the police down, telling them her vehicle had been shot at, and a bullet struck her 3-year-old child’s scalp.
Neither victim’s injuries were life-threatening.
PPD says a third vehicle near Big Hollow and Creighton shot into the two vehicles.
Police have no suspect information. An investigation is underway.
