PEORIA, Ill. – The loss of hockey in Danville means changes to the Peoria Rivermen’s schedule.
The Rivermen on Wednesday announced the changes after the Vermilion County Bobcats announced they were ceasing operations last week. The Rivermen had seven games schedule against Vermilion County in March and April.
The home schedule remains unchanged, but games previously scheduled against the Bobcats will have new opponents. The Rivermen will now play the Evansville Thunderbolts on March 12th, the Quad City Storm on March 26th, and the Pensacola Ice Flyers April 7th and 8th.
Road games against Vermilion on March 3rd, 17th, and 18th were taken off the schedule and will not be played. The Rivermen will travel to Evansville on March 5th and to Quad City on March 25th and April 4th.
There are 19 games left on Peoria’s schedule of 57 games. They currently have a 27-9-2 record and have a six point lead over the Birmingham Bulls in the league standings.
