PEORIA, Ill. – The second bomb threat in as many weeks has been phoned in to the Pere Marquette hotel in downtown Peoria.
Peoria Police Saturday afternoon released details of the incident first reported at 1:30 a.m. Saturday. Hotel guests were evacuated to what only police referred to as a “secure location,” until a police bomb unit could determine there was no threat.
After guests were returned to the main lobby and later ballroom space, a sweep of the rest of the hotel was conducted, with nothing suspicious detected. Guests were then allowed back into their rooms, police said.
The alleged threat remains under investigation. If you have any information regarding this incident or any violent crimes, please contact the Peoria Police Department at (309) 673-4521, tip411 (anonymously), or Crime Stoppers (anonymously) at (309) 673-9000.
The first bomb threat happened January 19th during the daytime hours.
No one was hurt.
