PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley University says it’s buying the former Avanti’s location on West Main Street near campus.
The university is putting out a statement saying the property became theirs as of this past Friday, and right now, the plan is to create a green space with the land and an adjacent lot.
Bradley president Steve Standifird calls it “an investment in our campus and our community.”
Green space, he says, will add appeal and “ease pedestrian mobility” near Main and University, which is part of why Avanti’s closed there last April, and moved their other Peoria locations to seven-days-a-week operation.
No timetable on the project has been released.
