PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria-area gas prices in the last week either did not move at all, or moved very slightly down, depending on who you ask.
GasBuddy.com says their Peoria-area weekly average of $3.24 a gallon for regular unleaded is unchanged from a week ago. AAA’s Peoria-Pekin Metro Average, though, is at $3.27 — down about two cents from a week ago.
On the plus side, Gas Buddy says prices are 43 cents lower than a month ago, and almost 13 cents lower than a year ago.
AAA says their average is 47 cents lower than a month ago, and about a dime lower than this time last year.
Meanwhile, GasBuddy analysts say the national average for unleaded rose sharply for the first time in two months last week, due in part to China and some refineries shutting down due to cold weather. The national average is at $3.17, while the state average is $3.26.
GasBuddy says there is quite a spread on prices in the Peoria area. The lowest local price was $2.91 as of Sunday, while the highest price was $3.49.
