PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria County Grand Jury this week has indicted a Peoria man for a mid-October shooting that seriously injured a woman.
The grand jury filed two felony counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon against Willie Irby, now 19.
Prosecutors had previously filed one of the counts as a misdemeanor. Jail records indicate Irby was initially given notices to appear in court when he was arrested after the shooting October 13 near South MacArthur Highway and Smith Street, near the Tri-County Urban League.
He allegedly shot and injured a woman who was in her car, along with four kids.
Court records indicate Irby will be arraigned January 12th.
