PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man has been indicted by a county grand jury on three felony charges following a shooting incident almost two months ago.
The grand jury filed counts of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, and Possession of a Weapon Without a Valid FOID Card against Luis Cardenas, 23.
Not much is known about the case, except charging documents allege Cardenas opened fire on a car occupied by a woman October first near Brighton Avenue and Big Hollow Road.
Despite the felony charges, Peoria County Jail records indicate Cardenas was never put in jail in the case, and is scheduled to be arraigned January fifth, after he made an initial court date earlier this month.
