PEORIA, Ill. – Gas prices in the Peoria area are continuing their trek upward once again.
AAA says Monday’s average price of unleaded in the Peoria-Pekin metro is at $4.28 a gallon — down a penny from Sunday, but up about six cents from the week before.
GasBuddy.com, meanwhile, says it’s weekly average of Peoria gas stations is also at $4.28 — up nearly seven cents from the week before.
GasBuddy petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan says nearly half the country saw gas prices averages rise last week, and blames the uptick in this area on tight supply in the Great Lakes region.
But, DeHaan says that’s already starting to ease, so there could be some price declines again.
