PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria will play host to a major event for synchronized figure skating.
That’s the announcement made today by The Peoria Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
CEO J.D. Dalfonso was set to be joined by U.S. Figure Skating’s Megan Romeo and Chief Referee of the event, Gale Tanger, & Peoria Mayor Rita Ali for today’s announcement.
In an earlier release, they said the U.S. Figure Skating’s Synchronized Skating Championships will be held in Peoria next year at the Civic Center.
The event is scheduled for March 1-4, 2023 and tickets are now on sale.
Officials expect the event will bring competitors, their friends and family and a significant amount of economic impact into Peoria.
