GERMANTOWN HILLS, Ill. – A Chicago man was arrested in Woodford County after being caught with an allegedly stolen car.
The Woodford County Sheriffs Department says deputies pulled Kenneth Dean’s vehicle over on Route 116 in Germantown Hills prior to 7:00 A.M. Tuesday, but Dean allegedly fled on foot.
Almost an hour later, deputies say Dean was arrested after approaching a man’s home and asking to use the phone.
Dean is jailed on charges of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and is awaiting a bond hearing.
“Thank you, to that homeowner who thought to call us when something just didn’t seem right,” said Chief Deputy Dennis Tipsword, in a news release.
Schools were alerted to take appropriate precautions while Dean was still wanted.
