PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man arrested more than two years ago for a shooting the year prior has been convicted of attempted murder.
Peoria County Court records indicate a jury this week also found Jatterius Yankaway, 26, guilty of Aggravated Battery, and Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
Yankaway — in late-July of 2019 — shot an unidentified man multiple times in the hip, torso, and arm near Haungs and Rock island Avenues in the North Valley.
Yankaway is scheduled for sentencing October 26th. He could face at least 20 years in prison on the attempted murder charge alone.
