EUREKA, Ill. – A Henry, Illinois man is in custody after allegedly leading law enforcement on a chase Friday morning.
Woodford County Chief Deputy Sheriff Dennis Tipsword says Robert Gibbs, 36, is jailed on several charges including Residential Burglary, Driving on a Suspended License, and Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding.
Just before 7:00 a.m. Friday, Tipsword says a 911 call came in about a vehicle stolen from a home in Eureka.
Deputies found and pursued the vehicle throughout Dee-Mack Road with other departments’ help.
Another 911 call came in about an hour later from Germantown Hills, and it’s believed the stolen was abandoned in favor of another one.
25 News reports Gibbs was taken to a Peoria hospital for treatment and later arrested, after a crash with a sheriffs department vehicle.
The deputy was also hospitalized.
