WASHINGTON, Ill. — A small aircraft appears to have landed safely in a soccer field near Washington Middle School late Wednesday.
Initial reports came in shortly after 6 p.m. about an aircraft making a possible crash landing in the area.
Images from the scene show the neon colored single-engine plane ended the ordeal upright and in decent condition, nearly crashed into the side of a soccer net.
By the time our reporter made it to the scene, there was only a police vehicle with some by-standers and likely some of the individuals involved in the incident.
There did not initially appear to be a significant emergency response.
No traffic was impacted.
