EDLESTEIN, Ill. – A man is severely injured after an explosion and fire Friday evening.
Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says it happened at a home on West Main in Edlestein before 5:30 P.M.
The man’s wife told investigators he was working on getting the house ready to sell when he shut a circuit breaker off, causing the explosion and fire.
Watkins says the man sustained some form of burns on over 90 percent of his body. He is hospitalized, but his condition is not known.
No word on how much damage was done to the home.
