PEORIA, Ill. – Bond has been set at $2 million for the man charged with the fatal Fourth of July shooting in the area of Taft Homes.
Court records indicate Raekwon Pickett, 22, will be arraigned September 22nd, but made his first appearance in court Wednesday.
A probable cause statement claims Pickett shot and killed Quinton Scott, Jr., 19, after Scott allegedly punched his brother.
25 News reports prosecutors had asked for a $2.5 million bond, claiming Pickett was a flight risk, having traveled to Galesburg, Chicago, and Houston after the shooting. He was in Houston allegedly for a month.
Pickett was granted a public defender.
