PEORIA, Ill. – The sidelined CEO of Pekin-based Reditus Labs may have violated a condition of his pre-trial release.
Aaron Rossi was in federal court in Peoria Thursday afternoon via video conference, where he pleaded not guilty to a number of charges filed against him last month, accusing him of mail fraud, in addition to counts of filing a false tax return he already faced.
25 News reports Rossi allegedly tested positive for a controlled substance that was not detailed during the hearing. Defense attorneys claimed they would work that issue out with prosecutors in order to avoid a hearing.
Both sides also agreed Thursday that Rossi can continue to try and sell three condominiums he owns, but is still ordered not to get rid of any other assets.
A trial could still be held next month.
Rossi also still faces civil lawsuits in Tazewell County, accusing him of siphoning company money for his personal gain.
