PEORIA, Ill. – It’s not “interim” Peoria Fire Chief Shawn Sollberger any longer.
City Manager Patrick Urich says he’s selected Sollberger to permanently replace retired Chief Jim Bachman.
Urich says in a news release Sollberger’s 24 years of experience made him the right man for the job.
“Shawn Sollberger’s 24 years of firefighting knowledge and background made him an excellent choice for this position,” said Urich, in a news release. “We look forward to seeing him serve our community and lead the Peoria Fire Department with the highest standards of emergency service.”
The Peoria High School and Illinois Central College grad had been interim chief since March, serving as Assistant Chief before then, and having a number of other roles over the years.
