PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man will spend the rest of his life in prison for murdering his uncle four years ago.
Court records indicate Anthony Jackson, 31, was given that sentence Wednesday after being convicted in March during a bench trial of First-Degree Murder. He also got another ten years for Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
Jackson stabbed and later shot Timothy Jackson, 43, outside a home near Wilcox and Ellis in Central Peoria in June of 2018.
The stabbing occurred during some type of altercation between the two — the shooting, after Timothy Jackson returned from the hospital.
An appeal is reportedly planned.
