MINONK, Ill. – A man who had been missing since last Wednesday, when he escaped from a transport van in Woodford County, has been found in Tennessee.
That’s according to Illinois State Police. They say Javier Aguirre, 47, of Hoopeston was found by Clarksville, Tennessee, Police around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Aguirre allegedly broke out a window to a van while being taken from one hospital to the other, while the van was parked along Interstate 39 in Woodford County.
State Police say Woodford County is charging Aguirre with Criminal Damage to Property.
He’s no longer a threat to the public, and what troopers call a “balanced approach” is being taken regarding his health concerns along with victim’s rights.
It’s not clear when or if Aguirre will be brought back to Illinois.
